The Waste Less Shop Community Initiatives & Events
At the Waste Less Shop, we believe in community involvement and events in order to foster education and connection revolving around sustainability & planetary friendliness in our homes. Living a life focused around the health & sustainability of our homes, bodies, and communities takes a collective & personal effort on all of our parts.
Third Thursdays at The Village
Third Thursdays at The Village is a way to bring together small businesses offering delicious drinks, special discounts, and a feel-good way to support the local economy.
We will have a rotating sale, non-alcholic drinks + wine, pop-up vendors and 10% of all purchases are donated to KTMB!
Mark your calendars, bring a friend, and join us Every Third Thursday 3-6pm at The Village at Rancharrah all year long.
Second Saturday Swap: Baby + Kids
Every second Saturday The Waste Less Shop hosts a FREE themed swap from 12-3pm in our shop or outside on the lawn. To celebrate Mother's Day we are hosting a Mom Approved Swap for Baby + Kids on Saturday May 10th.
👶 What to Bring & Swap:
✔ Gently used kids’ clothing (newborn-5T)
✔ Toys & books your little one has outgrown
✔ Baby gear & essentials (carriers, high chairs, play mats, etc.)
✔ Maternity wear & postpartum must-haves
5 ITEMS MAXIMUM. Items that do not abide by the rules will not be accepted and you will need to take them home with you. Leftover items will be donated locally. Pro-tip: if you stay until the end of the event you can scoop up as many leftovers as you would like! We would love for every item to find a home.
Herbal Salve Making Workshop
Join us for an evening of herbal salve making with Clinical Herbalist Mary McCallum of Mountain Song at The Waste Less Shop in Reno, NV on Friday, May 16th from 6–7:30pm.
During this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to craft your own herbal-infused salves—perfect for natural first aid, bruises, burns, bug bites, sore muscles, and skin healing. Mary will guide you through the entire process, sharing her wisdom as a clinical herbalist and maker of earth-based medicine.You'll leave with your own handmade salves, an herbal recipe booklet to continue creating at home, and a warm cup of tea to enjoy during the class.
Riverside Farmers Market
We're back at the market this Spring/Summer! Bring your own containers to refill our best sellers—laundry detergent, dish soap, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We will also have a selection of our favorite in season products. Pro-tip: Place an online order, select Store Pickup, and call the shop to have your order brought to the market!

Rent our space for a special, and sustainable, celebration! From botanical dyeing to custom candle pouring, we have a great list of offerings to choose from and can curate to your individual needs!
