The Waste Less Shop Community Initiatives & Events
At the Waste Less Shop, we believe in community involvement and events in order to foster education and connection revolving around sustainability & planetary friendliness in our homes. Living a life focused around the health & sustainability of our homes, bodies, and communities takes a collective & personal effort on all of our parts.
Second Saturday Swap: Books
Every second Saturday The Waste Less Shop hosts a FREE themed swap from 12-3pm in our shop or outside on the lawn.
This month we have partnered with Grassroots Books, who donated some GREAT titles to get us started, to host a FREE BOOK SWAP on October 12th from 12-3pm. Bring one take one, bring two take two, you get the idea.
Haven + Flux Candles will be popping up with her limited series of book themed candles! See you there bookworms!
Botanical Scarf Dyeing
Join us for an exciting evening of botanical scarf dyeing with Ebb + Flow by Ty on Thursday, October 17th from 6-7:30pm.
During this workshop, you'll learn how to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind silk scarf using natural dyes made from plant waste! Ty will guide you through the process, from selecting your materials to creating your own unique color palette. You'll leave with a gorgeous scarf that you can wear or give as a gift. No prior experience is necessary, and all materials & tasty sips will be provided.
You will have your choice of two sizes of silk scarves:
$65- 21x21in Silk Scarf
$85- 30x30in Silk Scarf
$100- Make one of each size *cannot be split between two people
*Each person attending the event must have their own ticket. The option to make two scarves cannot be split between two people. Tickets are non-refundable but may be given to someone else in the event you cannot attend.
Trick or Treat + Pumpkin Decorating
Reserve a pumpkin to decorate with eco-paint or natural materials during the Trick or Treat event at The Village at Rancharrah on Saturday October 26th from 1-5pm. Limited supply available, pre-purchase recommended! Pick up with your ORDER NUMBER at our booth on the lawn in front of The Waste Less Shop.
Second Saturday Swap: Mugs
Every second Saturday The Waste Less Shop hosts a FREE themed swap from 12-3pm in our shop or outside on the lawn.
November we are partnering with Terroir Herbals (serving locally-made loose leaf tea) + Rising for People Coffee (serving fair trade locally-roasted coffee) to host a FREE MUG SWAP on Saturday November 9th from 12pm-3pm.
Please BRING YOUR OWN MUG for tea + coffee and bring mugs for donation that are in good shape, no cracks, chips, or damage. Ceramic, travel, mini, matching sets, quirky, blasé- all shapes and sizes welcome!
All leftover mugs will be donated locally. See you there!

Rent our space for a special, and sustainable, celebration! From botanical dyeing to custom candle pouring, we have a great list of offerings to choose from and can curate to your individual needs!
